Creative Concrete Resurfacing was founded in 1991 in Columbus, Georgia, by Calvin “Cal” Erickson. During his distinguished 20-year Army career, which concluded at Fort Benning as a drill sergeant, Cal developed the principles that would later define his business: Service, Dedication, and Pride.
After retiring from the Army, Cal set out to build a business of his own. While researching opportunities, he discovered the Sundek product line and the growing decorative concrete industry. Inspired by its potential, he opened Sundek of Columbus.
In 1995, Cal brought the Sundek brand to the rapidly expanding Atlanta market. Since then, Creative Concrete Resurfacing has become a trusted name in decorative concrete resurfacing throughout metro Atlanta and the surrounding areas. What began with residential pool decks has grown to include driveways, patios, walkways, basements, garages, and commercial properties.
In March 2015, Cal’s stepson, Jason “JJ” Shaw, joined the family business after 19 years in the tile industry. JJ brought valuable experience and a shared commitment to quality, helping ensure that Creative Concrete Resurfacing will continue serving customers for generations to come.
